Dating from 1860 to 2002, the Navajo textiles in this exhibition demonstrate myriad weaving techniques, while silver and turquoise headstalls convey the ornate art of horse adornment. The venue itself, Bosque Redondo Memorial, commemorates the tragic forced relocation of the Mescalero Apache and Navajo from their traditional homelands beginning in 1863 and their subsequent incarceration at Fort Sumner.
