The seasoned country artists have released a live version of their tune from the Lane Frost biopic.
McBride & The Ride are celebrating their 35th anniversary together by looking back at their contribution to the soundtrack of 8 Seconds — the enduringly popular 1994 biopic about the late rodeo champ Lane Frost — and moving forward with a new live version of their song “No More Cryin’.”
The seasoned country music artists — Terry McBride (vocals/bass), Ray Herndon (vocals/guitar), and Billy Thomas (vocals/drums) — will include this new version on their upcoming live EP due out Oct. 18. But they’re offering a preview of their reprise right now.

“This song has always been really fun to play live,” says Herndon. “So when we recorded two of our shows this year at my venue in Scottsdale, Arizona called Handlebar J, ‘No More Cryin’’ stood out as one that we had to include on our Live EP.
“With the 30th anniversary of the iconic movie 8 Seconds, and McBride & The Ride playing a part in this movie’s legacy, we felt it’s the perfect time to reintroduce this song to our long-time fans, as well as new ones.”
“We realized back then our band had struck gold being a part [of the 8 Seconds soundtrack] and having our song as the lead-off single,” says Thomas. “We’d now love to take you back with a new, rockin’ live recorded version of ‘No More Cryin’’ from that soundtrack on its 30th anniversary! Enjoy!”
McBride told C&I that he rewatched 8 Seconds not long ago, and was once again enthralled by the true-life drama. “It’s a tender love story all the way to the end,” he said, “and so it was pretty sweet. I love to tell people we’re actually in the movie, too. I mean, we’re in there for about six seconds, but that’s the way it goes in Hollywood. It’s better than being on the cutting room floor. And yeah, that was something we really wanted to do.
“It was something different, and we’re still proud of the music. So I’m glad that we got be a small part of the movie.”
